It should be mentioned that the green and yellow wires are essential for power safety and lightning protection. But they are not necessarily good for EMC.
The fact that the green and yellow wires could act as an antenna and radiate RF energy is perhaps never considered. That is why we have seen green and yellow wire, often unnecessarily long is everywhere in a complex power system, creating enormous noise level in the system.
My mentor Keith Armstrong has a training course in system installation, I remembered I attended one of his sessions. At the end of the day, he said to the wide audience, “I know there’re many things to take for today’s session, you might be overwhelmed by so much information. But if you can take just one thing out of this session, I want you to know that the green and yellow wire is not going to be your EMC solution”.
